Wow! Here is an awesome purse from decades past.
Dating from the Edwardian - 1920's era, the purse features a paisley fabric with a beautiful silk water taffeta moire interior.
A suede leather framework with brass catch to open and close the bag. Suede tab on the front with initials of C.E.D. A heavier style rope braid handle straps, with interesting knot in the center, for carrying the purse.
Two interior pockets, one for a mirror backed in the same fabric as the interior. A small case, with snap closure, is in the other pocket. Grande Maison De Blanc is stamped on one of the pockets.
Also a delightful surprise find were the two paper perfume envelopes, printed with the Grande Maison De Blance name, and the address of 538 & 540 Fifth Avenue, New York. Both perfume envelopes have been used, but nevertheless a nice touch.
