Here is such a pretty pair of women's underwear from the late Victorian or Edwardian era. The fancy bloomers or pantaloons features wide embroidery trim in a whitework at the hem. The eyelet scallop edging features a leaf-flower in a scroll design which is 5" wide.
Sewn just above this pretty embellishment is eyelet lacing for inserting a ribbon. The width of this edging is 1-1/2" wide. How dramatic this would be with a soft color ribbon tied with bows. Wouldn't it be fabulous hung in a bedroom for a truly feminine decor?
Other features is a button back waistband and wide legs.
If you look at the construction of the garment you will find it nicely made. Probably the only flaw is the bloomers need to be laundered. Some oxidation from storage on one of the legs. With a good soaking in your favorite cleaner for old textiles, it would become sparkling white.
Measurement: 22" long from the waist to the hem. Waistband is 22"around. Measuring the back of the garment from the waist band to the center of crotch is 18" in length.
