A wonderful unfinished stenciled pillow top from the early 1900's.  The stenciling is textured, slightly raised.  The size of the Victorian pillow top is 22" square.  A circle of daisies forms the outside border with a scattering of flowers at the center. 

Background is a muddled color of purple, brown, plum, depending on the cast of light.  Fabric of cotton or cotton linen blend.  It does have a patent number at one edge but no other information.  At the time I purchased this top, I also bought another similar which was dated 1903.  Both came from the same household.

The attractive top possibly could be used as it is, as it is nicely stenciled, or it could be finished with embroidery.

Condition is very nice.
