Two very sweet sisters dresses, although not matching, there are charming together. Dating from the later 1920's or 1930's, the dresses are made of batiste cotton with delicate white on white embroidery.  So suitable for summer wear!

The older girl's dress ~  The neck line of dress is scallop which accents the embroidery work of the yoke.  Dress is a sleeveless style with the edge of the sleeve in a scallop to match the neckline. Back of the dress fastens with two very tiny buttons.  Separating the yoke from the full gathers of the skirt is a row of hemstitching. The skirt fabric then falls to the hem line.  At the hem line another group of embroidered flowers finishes the front.  

The dress is 8" across from shoulder to shoulder.  It is 24" around the chest.  Length of the dress from neckline to hem is 21-1/4" long.
Condition is good with some soiling on the back hem.  

Smaller child's dress ~ The neck line of this dress is square with a scallop design at the edge.  It has a short cap sleeve over the opening of the armhole.  The cap sleeve treatment is accented with scallops, both on inner and outer edge.  Between the full skirt and the yoke the dress is pleated.  Delicate embroidery accents the cap sleeves and yoke area.  Again, two tiny buttons fasteners on the back.  The lower part of the skirt also has embroidered flowers at the hem.

Size:  Dress is 18" long from shoulder to hem.  8-1/2" across from shoulder to shoulder.  22" around the chest. Condition:  A couple of pin dot holes on the side front.  Otherwise nice.
