A bold colorful late Victorian early 1900's Roman Squares small size tied quilt. The bar design of the quilt features silk fabrics and ribbons in prints, solids, stripes and floral. It is tied with blue threads, possibly embroidery floss.

The size of the quilt is 50-1/2" x 54-1/2". Each block size is 4-1/2" square. The black silk border is 3" in width.

A chain stitch embroidery, in blue, accents the very edge of the quilt. Most of the backing fabric is a pink dot but alas, the maker didn't have quite enough fabric so used a strip of pink crepe to finish the backing. In otherwords, "make-do".

Condition: There are about 110 squares in the quilt with 20 having minumum to more moderate damage to the silk. With reasonable regard and handling, the quilt would give years of enjoyment.

Perhaps lovely displayed across a bed in a spare room or folded on a bench. I am sure there are ways which would make you smile.
