#4610 Milton Bradley children's toy picture puzzle in originial cardboard box. Dating from the late Victorian or early 1900's. The lithograph cover of the box pictures a child dressed in a clown suit, playing a violin, for an audience of children
Snippy, the dog, sitting on a stool in background, whins his accompainiment to the music. This print is one of the two puzzles in box. The second puzzle is of Mildred, a Victorian child, on a day's outing, picking wild flowers to take home to her mother. Written stories for each of the puzzles are printed inside the lid of the box.
The puzzles are separated inside the box with a sheet of cellophane. This prevents rubbing of the puzzles. Size of the puzzles are 7-1/2" x 10". Puzzles are made of a heavy stock board and are in very good condition for the age. I noticed a slight edge lifting on one puzzle piece but minor. Both puzzles are complete - missing no pieces.
The cardboard box is good, considering a child's play thing. Still, it does show normal handling over the years, and a break away of one corner. A little glue could easily fixed. Plus a some soiling spots on the lid. The puzzle box measures 8-1/2" x 10" x 7/8" high.
A charming play treat of the past,
