A late Victorian or Edwardian glass and metal button in an jewel-tone amethyst color. The glass center is multifaceted. It appears to have a foil background. The outer rim of the button is brass. A narrow trimming in a rope design separates the glass jewel from the rest of the smooth metal.
This is a two piece button, with the metal of the back in a painted surface. Shank back.
Size of the button is 1-1/2" diameter.
Condition: Some wear and dings to the surface of the brass. Condition of the glass center is quite good with no nicks that I see. Some surface scratches to the black surface on the button back.
A pretty button for crafts, dress or costuming making.
