This shawl or wrap made in a fine machine knitted wool design, would be suitable for a little one as well as an adult.  A short note included with the shawl says it belonged to Great Grandma Woodall.  At which stage of her life, one can only suppose. 

The overall size of the shawl is 44" x 48" including the 7" wide fringe.  The fringe is not part of the knit fabric but has been hand stitched to the edges.  A pretty shawl that does have a flaw at one of the corners of the fringe (see photo). As you notice, the fringe has unraveled leaving a portion of the fringe missing.  Also a couple of very minor holes in the knit, which would be common for the age.
