A lovely hand made valance, portiere curtain, door or window treatment, in an Italian darn net knotted filet lace. Dating from the late Edwardian - 1920's era, the panel is ecru or oatmeal in color. Motifs are figural of two animals, birds, flowers and other symbols. The top edge and sides are straight. The bottom is made in points, with a border of birds. An embellishment of tassels accents this beauty. Thread is a cotton or possibly linen.
This outstanding piece is 61" long x 24" width, from the top edge to the point. Tassels, themselves are 1-1/2" in length. The two animals are 7-1/2" tall x 6-1/4" wide.
Condition is very nice. A one of a kind decorator textile from 100 years ago.
