Tied bouquet of flower, appear in each of the four corners of this lovely late Victorian or Edwardian cotton handkerchief, hankie. Made in a cotton fabric, the blue flowers are printed on a white background. Border color is the same blue as the flowers.
A generous size of 17" square. Very clean with little or no usage.
Often times, cotton handkerchiefs of this size were made into decorative pillows for the Victorian bedroom. One, two, or four of the same handkerchief were stitched together, embellished with lace and ribbon.
If you should find one of these pillows, they are SO attractive. Or if you wish to make your own for a one-of-a-kind decorative look, here's a start of a sewing project.
