Made in England for the B. Altman & Co. a vintage wool knit baby shawl or blanket. A sensational color in a pale aqua makes this shawl truly a beautiful piece of vintage. Dating from the 1920's or 1930's, the light as a feather shawl is knitted in two different design styles. Finished with a wide scallop border. 

It is 56" square and possibly never been used.  It does appear it has not.  Very nice condition.

B. Altman & Co., a department store was founded in the year 1865, located on 5th Avenue, New York City.  The doors closed in 1990.
