Charming for country home or shabby look decor is this chicken scratch embroidery pillow cover from the late Victorian Edwardian era. Made of a pink and white check cotton fabric, the top of the cover is worked in a heavier cotton thread, in two different motifs.
Each motif is about 2-7/8" square. This may give you a size of the scale. The cover has a 2-1/2" wide ruffle, which is edged in yet another motif. Even the back of the cover displays a delightful pattern of cross stitch. One end of the pillow back is open for inserting a pillow. It would take about a 14" square insert. Overall size of the cover measures 20" square, including the ruffled edges.
Condition: Very clean. I found two small holes on the back of the case the size of dots. It appears maybe from a pin as they are right together. Also, couple dots of oxidation about the size of a pin head.
