A nice mid 19th century American show towel in red and blue embroidery on homespun linen.  Possibly Pennsylvania , this towel is 36-1/2" long x 19-1/2" wide. A drawn thread border on either end of the towel adds to the charm of the simple, but bold colors of the embroidery.

Condition is nice with the embroidery thread still bright. It appears never to have been laundered and you will find some oxidation soiling on the fold of the cloth.

A nice old textile to admire or display.
