Vintage, 1940's, set of four muslin kitchen dish towel with applique fruit and flowers. Generous size towels with one corner of each towel decorated with an applique's. Represented are apples, grapes, cherry and a flower patch. A fun set from a time long ago.
Size is 35" x 40" but may vary slightly. One of the towels is slightly different muslin. Quite understandable, as the towels were made from feed sacking, one from a different feed company. Our mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers were amazing women, schooled in home arts to recycle into something else, practical and well as pretty.
Condition: All are very nice. Have been laundered to freshen, however, may never have been used, except possibly one with with an applique apple cluster. My opinion though ~ I believe the appliques were part of something else. This apple cluster, even though faded, was still appliqued to the towel.
