A late 19th century single quilt block in the bear claw pattern. The brown plaid fabric is pieced to complete the pattern motif (as noted in below photos) then stitched to the muslin. All stitching is done by hand.

The block is in nice condition although you will find oxidation from storage. Size is 8-3/4" square.
