From the 1880's Victorian linen closet, a hand made, hand embroidery society silk napkin holder case. Sewn of natural linen, the case is folded in triangles, edged in maroon ribbon. Each side is embellished with a cluster of flowers embroidered in silk thread. Ribbon bows tie the case together.
Size is 9-1/2" square. Probably would hold about a dozen 8" square napkins.
Condition: It appears never to have been used. The natural linen has taken on a soft aged patina from years of storage. Bits of the silk ribbon edging missing here and there.
