A society silk embroidery, on tan linen, heart shaped picture frame with easel back. Dating from the Victorian to Edwardian era, our ancestors created lovely needlework during this time period. One of those treats were embroidered pictures frames.

This particular cloth frame is embroidered with a scattering of violets surrounding the heart shaped opening.  A photo of a sweet girl is centered in the heart opening.  Glass covers the photo.

The rectangle hard frame is covered in a fine weave linen.  This is attached to the hard pressed cardboard board backing, then looks to be glued to the front.  A wire easel is attached to the backing. 

Size is 10" high x 8" wide. 

Condition:  The frame does show age soiling and spotting
