A 19th Century tin and wood grater.  The tin of the primitive grater is hand punched and shaped in a half circle.  The tin is attached to a thick piece of wood planking with the edges of the wood smoothed and beveled.  The grater has a handle at the top with a ring hole for hanging.  Made of pine, the grater, at sometime, has been finished.

Size of the grater is 13" long, from bottom to top of handle.  The back of grater is 4-3/4" wide.  Width of handle is 2-1/8" wide.  Depth of the tin is 2" tall.

Very nice patina and wear.  Condition is good for the age.  A great early Americana primitive kitchen item from New England.
