The Victorian era through the early 1900′s seen a proliferation of red embroidery which has come to be known as redwork or turkey red. This beautiful red embroidery was used to decorate household linens including quilts as well as clothing, undergarments and aprons. This dresser or table runner is just such example.
The fringed runner celebrates the daisy flower on either end embroidered in red thread. Size of the runner is 44" long including the 1-1/4" wide fringed ends x 17-1/2" wide.
Condition, including the brightness of the embroidery, is very nice.
