The imagaination spurs our creativity, today, just as it did decades ago. Many homemakers employed their imaginitive skills with needle and thread, china painting, basket weaving etc, resulting in some of the most beautiful one-of-a-kind small works of art treasures from times past.
The Gatherings, in travels, has found a sweet offering of a trinket or small sewing basket. It is made of a raffia, lined in blue silk. Silk ribbon ties form a handle embellished with a cluster of small bells. Narrow ribbon with bells dangles over the side of the basket around the outside edge. The basket measures 2-1/2" tall x 4" in diameter.
Condition: The raffia of the basket, itself, is very nice. However, as you will notice from the photos some of the narrow ribbon has been damaged and some of the bells have been lost. Still, it is a wonderful little item from the past to be enjoyed.
