Looking for calico children's clothing from long ago?  Here is a cute style for an older girl made of a double pink calico or sometimes called cinnamon pink. The dress dates from the early 1890's Victorian period.

It features a white eyelet yolk accented with a ruffle collar. Long full sleeves with the wide cuff trimmed in the same white eyelet.  The bodice is gathered with shirring at the center waist band, both the front and back.  Ten white pearl buttons fastens the back of the dress to the waist.

The skirt is made of four widths of fabric, each 26" wide.  Also the the dress is finished with a wide hem.

Measurement: Neck to hem is 35" in length.  10-1/2" across from shoulder to shoulder. 24"chest and 24" waist.  Sleeve length is 19" in length including the cuff.

Condition:  For the age good.  As you notice from photo one of the sleeves is faded.  Oxidation to the white fabric of the dress.  A few pinholes, which would be common, but very little.  A small break of threads  in the sewing of the waist, which with a few stitches would be fixed. Please note in photo this area.

Dress is probably fit for a 9 to 11 year old.

A wonderful piece of clothing for study, careful wearing, or to admire.
