A very sweet home sewn old doll dress, blouse and crepe paper tissue hat. Dating from the Edwardian era, the outfit consist of a white blouse with long sleeves. Made of cotton with rows of vertical tucks with lace.
The blouse has a gathered neck line. The wrist edge of sleeves are also gathered. The hem of the blouse is raw edge. The jumper dress is in a color of pink, white and black pattern.
The little crepe paper made hat is simply divine! Plaited and twisted, the paper takes the shape of a brimmed hat with a raised crown. It is embellished with a crepe paper ribbon and silver foil. To think that such a fragile item still survive makes me smile.
Size: The length of the jumper dress is 5" long, from the hem to the middle of the shoulder strap. 4" around the chest. 4" around the waist.
Blouse: 2-1/4" long from neck line to hem. 1-1/2" across from shoulder to shoulder. 2" sleeve length.
Hat: 2-1/8" diameter. 1/4" tall crown.
Condition: More than likely sewn by a child with some sewing skills. Not crude but not refined either.
