Dating from the 19th Century, a garter for holding up a stocking. It is a Berlin embroidered band featuring flora, cupids and birds on either side of the German word, Beinkleider. Colors are red, gray-tan on a cream linen cloth. A hook at one end with a cloth braid at the other end, which is frayed, so I'm not sure how it fastened.
Length of the cloth is 17" long x 1-1/8" wide.
Condition, except for the frayed braid, it is very nice.
