Dating from the early 19th century to 1850's, a lappet or tie - embroidered, in whitework, on a fine muslin fabric. A floral pattern is featured on either end of the lappet with the edges finished in an irregular shape. Lappet or tie is seamed at the center back (on a diagional) with hand stitching.
Length of the lappet is 18" long on the one side and 23" long on the other side. Width is 7-1/2" wide.
Condition: A few small weak areas to the fabric, which is common to these old fabrics. I consider all minor.
