A pleasing embroidery fichu, scarf or shawl from the early part of the 19th Century to the middle era. The rather triangle shape scarf is made of a finer gauze fabric with fine delicate embroidery work of a small flower cluster on two corners. A border of flora sprays follow the scallop edge.
Size is 57" long, from one point to the other point. Length of the center back, from top edge to bottom is 27" long.
A lovely piece to admire or for reenactment costuming.
Condition: Although a few flaws, for the age the piece is remarkably good. You will find a few tiny holes and an small endearing mend from long ago.
