A wonderful long baby dress in a brown calico fabric.  This antique dress dates from the 1860's to later Victorian era. A neat calico dress to add to your country primitive treasure trove.

A simple construction, treadle machine sewn, the dress has no arm hole seams and is gathered with drawstring at the round scoop neck line. Three decorative incised pearl buttons accent the top of the sleeves.  Pleated ruffle edges the sleeve opening.  Same ruffle at the hem line.  Calico fabric is a small brown print on white background.

Length of the dress is 30-1/2"long from the neck line to the hem. 10" across the shoulders, as it measures now.  This can be adjusted by tightening or loosening the drawstring.  Chest size is 26"around.

Condition:  Very good for the age..  You may find a tiny hole or a bit of oxidation but all very minor.  The fabric of the dress is torn below the back opening (this sometimes happens) but could be easily stitched close.

A neat calico dress to add to your country primitive treasure trove.
