A sweet all original pastel drawing on paper of a young girl from the late Victorian era. Probably sometime after the 1900's. A lovely composition with the artist prominently showing the rendering of the child's face, her dress and surrounding flowing softly into the background.
I normally don't buy artwork but I was struck with the simplicity of the drawing as well as the child's facial features. It was found in New England years ago but now it is time for someone else to enjoy it as much as I have. The drawing is still in the original wood gilt frame.
Size of the drawing and frame is 11" x 13-1/2". Frame, itself is 1-3/4" wide.
Condition of the frame does show wear, especially at the corners. Still original cardboard and wire for hanging. Nails to hold the drawing were very loose so have been replaced with picture clips.
