Here's a late Victorian baby doll dress that is just adorably sweet. The style is so suitable for possibly dressing a large doll, and of course why not a toddler child. Especially charming for photography work should that be your niche.
The dress is a white cotton batiste fabric. The yoke of the dress is accented with rows of tucks, both the front and back, dipping to a "v" at the center front and back. A ruffle of whitework Swiss embroidery at the neckline and edges of sleeves. A wider whitework trim edges the hem line. The skirt of the dress also boast many rows of tucks ~ 15 to be exact making the dress a splendid creation. The dress buttons down the back to just above the first rows of tucks on the skirt.
Measurements: 21-1/2" long from the neck line to the hem. 9" across from shoulder to shoulder. 28" around the chest. 8-1/2" long sleeve. 7" opening around the cuff.
Condition: Freshly laundered and pressed. A few tiny frays to the fabric of the whitework at the hem and a couple pin dots holes in the fabric . One mend at the center front in the body of the skirt about a 1/2" long. Nothing more than would be expected for the age of the dress. All flaws would be minor.
