The pin cushion was an essential part of a lady's sewing basket from the Victorian times. Most all are hand made, as the one featured. This pincushion is made of strips of fabrics, in triangle shape, were cut from silks and brocades. Each were hand stitched together to form the square with a tuff of wool yarn accenting the center. A woven trim of novelty braid was added to the edge.
Cushion measures 4" square. Cushion and all the fabrics are in nice condition.
