A tall coffee grinder mill made by the Sun Mfg Co, Greenville, Ohio at the turn of the century. This late 1890 or early 1900 still retains most of the black paper label stating a fast grinder.
The cast iron turn crank and the handle at the side of the wooden dovetailed box are fancy. Metal screw lid on the top does not turn but seems to slide open. White china knob to open the door front.
Pullout drawer with tin surround. Drawer front has wear as seen in the photo. The label is hard to read as it has been varnished with the wood. I would assumed finished this way when new as the wood appears to have original finish and in good condition for the age. Condition of the crank works freely.
Size of the box, not including the crank is 8-1/2" tall x 7"square. Here's a nice country kitchen primitive.
