Here's is an endearing cloth toy rabbit to melt your heart. Dating from the late Victorian, or early 1900's, the stuffed bunny is home made from fabric of double pink calico for the body. The fabric for the hands, feet and front of ears appears to be a type of crepe material.
At one time a pink material, also, but over time has mellowed to a tan. This long legged charcater is dress in a pair of blue and white stripe overalls. The overalls are even made with a patch pocket on one side. Just as cute as the dickens!
The sweet bunny's face is hand embroidered. Strands of floss form the whiskers (what is left of the strands). The toy is stuffed with cotton batting.
What a comforting companion this soft critter must have been to a child. A child, possibly without many play toys, dearly loved this rabbit to death. As you can see from the repaired mends and rips again. Soiling of the cloth etc. Still, he has a lot of love left to give and would like to join another family of cloth dolls or toys.
The size of the lanky guy is 30-1/2" long from the tippy of his toes to the top of head, His floppy ears measure 5" long. He measures 7-1/2" wide across the shoulders. In other words, he is long and narrow.
