Dating from The Edwardian era, here is an oh so cute, adorable ditty laundry bag for handkerchiefs, stockings or other small dainties. It is treadle machine home sewn in the shape of a little shirt. Made of white dimity and plain cotton, it would be suitable for baby, children or ladies things.
The bag has long cuffed sleeves, a fake placket front and patchwork pocket. The edge of the neck line is stiffened so the opening would remain open. A twill tape is added to either side of the neck line so the laundry bag can be hung.
It is 6" wide x 11-3/4" long (does not include the twill tape hanger which would be another 6" in length.)
Condition is good but does have a couple of oxidation spots from storage.
