Dating from the Victorian - early 1900's an embroidered turkey red - redwork pillow sham in a tambour stitch.  The sham is a layover type (in otherwords no back).  Ruffle completely around the four sides.  The motif in the center is a pair of birds with leaves in each of the corners. 

Size is 28-1/2" x 32" including the 2" wide ruffle.  Condition - a couple of tiny flaws including a pin dot size hole in one of the corner leaves and a couple dots of oxidation. 

A small amount of fading to the red embroidery of the birds.  All are very minor.  A charming piece.
