A lovely footed fillgree brass and glass lidded trinket, jewelry, vanity dresser powder jar. No markings as to manufacture. Probably dates from the 1920's to 1940's period. This beautiful piece would be a striking addition for holding a few pieces of favorite jewelry on a vanity, dresser or use as a decorative piece in a bathroom.
Here are the details: The round box is 5" in diameter. It is 4" tall from the decorative handle top to the bottom. It has a clear glass with lid insert which can be removed from the intricate brass base. The lid of the glass is overlaid with beautifully detailed brass leaves spreading across the top of glass. At the center of the lid, a brass basket of flowers and leaves. Again the detail of this finial is quite prominent with the detailed design. This handle / finial also screws into the lid of glass allowing the handle and brass overlay to be removed to clean the glass. Another note: The handle is double sized with the same design on both sides. The brass base has pierced open sides and three small feet.
Condition is very nice.
