A vintage 1930's, or I believe even earlier, a Halco masquerade costume by the J. Halpern Co., Pittsburg, Pa. This company was founded in 1917. What child, growing up then, wouldn't have like to lead the charge parading in his continental solder uniform.
The jacket is polished cotton in a blue with great gold metal buttons snapping to the front. The pants are a heavier cotton with blue strips at the side seams. Drawstring waist band. A plain white camisole undergarment is included with the outfit.
Would fit a child about 6 or 7 years of age. The costume was found still in the Halco cardboard box.
Size of costume: Pants are 24-1/4" long from the waist to hem. 22" around the waist but would adjust some. Jacket is 12" across from shoulder to shoulder. Length of jacket is 14-1/2" from neck line to hem, 24" around the chest. Sleeve length of 14" long. Waist of jacket is 25" around.
Condition of outfit: Worn but nice. Some fading to the blue of jacket and a spot on the one front side.
Box: Good decent but not perfect condition.
