Chartreuse was a popular color in the era of the flapper in the 1920's, again in the later 1930's and yet another revival with mid century modern of the middle 1950's, both in fashion and home decorating.  With that being said, The Gatherings is offering an original spool of faille or grosgrain ribbon in this exuberant color.

I date the ribbon from the 1930's period and is from an old millinery shop closed decades ago.  The label states it is 10 yards and after measuring, the yardage is over 8 yards.  There is an extra amount that does have some color exposure so this is free.  The reel is a cardboard with a paper wrap between the ribbon and the next roll of ribbon.  Width is 5/8" wide.

Ribbon content is probably a rayon. Possibly even a rayon and cotton blend.

I have had this off the reel and it is super nice condition, except the first number of inches which is at no charge.

Splendid for all kinds of crafts and sewing projects. Even millinery hat making or restoring projects.
