A vintage toy or miniature metal sewing thimble.  Could have been from an old board game or I have also read thimbles were a prize in Cracker Jacks.

If so, this one would definitely be of a higher quality, as it is of sturdy metal with nice detail. No dents or flaws that I see.

Age is unknown.  Before 1950's, I am sure, .... and feel more from the 1930's - 40's era. 

It is an adorable size so suitable for display with dolls, miniature dollhouse, or in a sewing room. 

Measurement:  1/2" tall x 1/2" diameter.

I acquired the piece about 35 years ago but now it time to let someone else enjoy it as much as I have.
