For a country primitive display or feather tree Christmas setting, an old wooden stick leg putz sheep with a wool coat, ears and tail. The 2-1/2" tall sheep has painted eyes, although one is faded. Ribbon with bell around the neck and ribbon tied in the tail.
A charming animal with some small degree of flaws from handling over the years. Such has some fuzziness/soiling to the coat. I did notice a tiny hole in the wool about where the ribbon is broken at the neck line. Except for a little fading of the paint of one of the eyes, the face is decent but not perfect. No broken hoofs. Good paint to the stick legs.
Length of the sheep is 2-1/2" long. No markings as to manufacturer, however, I suspect it is Japanese as it doesn't have quite the refinement of a German sheep.
A neat treasure from the past.
