Just called this Civil War era child's dress sweet! It is a pinafore style in a blue and white silk taffeta fabric. The square neck line and shoulder straps are embroidered in a deep red button hole stitch in a scallop design.
Back opening, fastening to the waist with four small brass incised buttons. Tiny piping separates the skirt area from the bodice. The pinafore is hand stitched. The entire skirt is lined in glazed lining fabric, while the bodice is lined in a cotton muslin.
Measurements: 22-1/4" long from the neck line to hem. 21" around the chest. 25" around the waist. Condition is very nice.
