A late Victorian or Edwardian Monogram bolster sham pillow topper or sheet return. A simple but elegant textile with monogram letters of R M. Hem stitching and a pointed, scallop trim in hand crochet lends an extra touch to this pretty piece of bed linen.
This pretty work extends along the bottom edge and around the two lower curved corners. Top edge is straight with no decorating. Each of the monogram letters are embroidered on a diamond shape, worked in pulled / drawn work thread. The fabric is extra quality cotton, more than likely a metis blend (linen and cotton), in a white color.
Size of the bolster is 36" wide (to the point) x 64"long. The diamond shape monogram is 3-1/2" wide x 4-3/4"long.
Condition: at some point it has been laundered, however, long enough ago, there are a few tiny spots from storage. Very little or no usage.
